Why Maintenance Matters q34534

Yamaha outboards are designed to provide you with years of enjoyment. However, they operate in some of the harshest environments imaginable. Safeguard performance and resale value and avoid costly repairs by staying on top of basic outboard maintenance. That includes changing engine and lower unit oils every 100 hours, flushing engines regularly, replacing fuel filters, preventing corrosion, and treating your fuel.

Tackle maintenance yourself or trust an authorized Yamaha Marine dealer to do it for you. Either way, Yamaha’s committed to helping you maintain the longevity of your outboard.

Some maintenance, like engine flushing, is best done continually, while other steps, such as oil changes, are set up at intervals. This chart illustrates both continuous-use and interval maintenance for both two-stroke and four-stroke Yamaha outboards.
