Yamaha Marine Becomes Exclusive Outboard Sponsor of Expanded Jimmy Johnson Tournament Series

KENNESAW, Ga.  – Nov. 18, 2020 – Yamaha Marine announced today its official sponsorship of the expanded Jimmy Johnson saltwater tournament series. In addition to the Jimmy Johnson “Quest for the Ring™” Championship Fishing Week in South Florida, this year’s series will add two major events to the schedule for 2020/2021, extending the tournament series in Florida and north to Atlantic City, New Jersey.
 
Yamaha Marine recently signed a three- year agreement to become the Exclusive Powered by and Official Outboard Sponsor of the expanded Jimmy Johnson tournament series, which kicked off with the rejuvenated, invite-only Miami Billfish Tournament of Champions in Miami Beach, Fla., Nov. 19-21, 2020. The Jimmy Johnson “Quest for the Ring™” Championship Fishing Week in Florida (JJFISHWEEKFL) in South Florida takes place March 2-6, 2021, the Jimmy Johnson “Quest for the Ring™” Championship Fishing Week in Atlantic City (JJFISHWEEKAC) is scheduled for July 12-17, 2021 and the 2021 Miami Billfish Tournament of Champions is scheduled for Dec 9-11, 2021. The South Florida and Atlantic City tournaments each have a $1 million guaranteed purse up for grabs.

In addition to being an avid boater and angler, Johnson has experienced a long and successful career as a head football coach. Among his many accolades are two Super Bowl® championships, a college football national championship, a college-football Walter Camp Coach of the Year award and an AP NFL® Coach of the Year award. Johnson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame® in 2012 and will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame® in 2021.
