This month, Yamaha Marine is celebrating the first anniversary of its new Power Pay contingency program. Power Pay opens the world of competitive fishing to a wide field of participants and offers cash bonuses for noncontracted anglers running eligible Yamaha power in sanctioned tournaments.  

 

The Engebretsons are a family of anglers from Wausau, Wisconsin who have used Power Pay to turn their hobby into income and build lifelong memories along the way. Already lifelong Yamaha owners, the Engebretsons knew Power Pay would be a natural fit for their family and signed up for the program.  

 

To ensure they had an outboard that would be eligible in Power Pay competitions for years to come, the Engebretsons traded in their 2016 Skeeter/Yamaha boat package for a new 2020 Skeeter bass boat powered by a Yamaha 250 SHO outboard. They wasted no time in taking to the water, winning three Power Pay events over the summer, including a first-place finish in an AIM Weekend Walleye Series tournament in August.  

 

“We all enjoy fishing, and both my son and daughter have now begun competing in bass and walleye tournaments,” said Guy Engebretson.  “Despite our high usage, our Yamaha has run flawlessly since its very first start. It has taken us to memories that will stay with us forever.”  

 

With Power Pay, eligible anglers can win cash prizes for running Yamaha power in sanctioned tournaments, even if they do not finish in first place. Yamaha offers Power Pay payouts for bass, walleye and a variety of saltwater tournaments. To participate, an angler must have an eligible Yamaha outboard purchased and warranty registered within the past 60 months from the date of tournament participation.
